Big 12 on top of coaches poll

The Big 12 would love for the Final Four to play out as predicted by the preseason ESPN/USA Today Top 25 Coaches Poll.

Kansas is ranked No. 1 and Texas is No. 3.

Michigan State (2) and North Carolina (4) are also among the top four teams, according to the 31 coaches who vote.

Oklahoma, despite losing Blake Griffin to the NBA, is ranked No. 16.

Other Big 12 teams receiving votes include Oklahoma State, Missouri, Kansas State and Texas A&M.

The Big 12 might be as strong from top to bottom as it has ever been. Which makes it tough for the basement dweller (Colorado) to climb the stairs to respectability.

Nebraska’s Doc Sadler is the Big 12′s representative in the voting.
