Buffs recruiting New Zealand center

Colorado’s roster already has two Australian players in sophomore point guard Nate Tomlinson and freshman center Shane Harris-Tunks.

CU head coach Jeff Bzdelik would love to add a talented Kiwi to the mix.

Rob Loe, a highly touted 6-11 center from New Zealand, is making an official visit to CU today.

Loe and his parents watched Wednesday’s practice before leaving the Coors Events Center with Bzdelik, who has visited New Zealand in recent years to scout players.

According to reports, Loe is also being recruited by Arizona, Cal, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame and Kentucky.

Loe plans to enroll in the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., this spring and would be a part of the 2011 class.

CU did not sign any players during the early signing period. Bzdelik hopes to sign one or two players during the spring period.
