Greetings Buffs fans!
The Coors Events Center is already starting to fill up a little bit 30 minutes before the Colorado-Kansas State game.
There are plenty of purple shirts, but the home crowd continues to grow as CU enters today’s game 9-0 at the CEC, where Jeff Bzdelik’s team upset No. 22 Baylor on Tuesday night.
The Buffs have never beaten ranked opponents in back-to-back games.
It probably won’t happen this time either.
On Wednesday night three of the best teams in the Big 12 — Texas (90-83 at Iowa State), Missouri (94-89 at Texas Tech) and Kansas (84-72 at Nebraska) — all won on the road.
Conference teams had been 114-1 at home before those three road breakthroughs.
I expect K-State, ranked No. 13 by the Associated Press, to take care of business today in a close one.
I picked CU to beat Baylor but would be surprised if Bzdelik’s boys make history, although they should be in the game during crunch time.
Prediction: K-State 80, CU 75
