The atmosphere at the Coors Events Center is great when Kansas is in town or the Buffs are winning.
Now the aesthetics will be consistently improved with the following announcement from Daktronics Inc.:
The University of Colorado will be installing new Daktronics light emitting diode (LED) video displays this summer in Coors Events Conference Center, home to the university’s men’s and women’s basketball teams and volleyball team.
The new indoor displays, which have pixels spaced at 10 mm, will measure more than 10 feet high by nearly 19 feet wide. Featuring live video and instant replays, the displays will help keep athletes, coaches and fans entertained and up with the action going on in the center. The displays will also be capable of full-color animations, vivid graphics, up-to-the-minute statistics and engaging advertisements.
“The current Daktronics products on campus greatly enhance our events,” said Tom McGann, CU’s Director of Game Management and Operations. “This is just another step forward with the industry leader to upgrade our Daktronics video board system to have our fans and student-athletes have a world-class game experience.”
Two ribbon displays will accompany the video boards, each measuring two feet high by 120 feet wide. These displays will offer additional opportunities to showcase sponsors and provide statistics and animations to keep the crowd on its feet.
CU is upgrading from its current Daktronics basketball scoreboard and timers, which are currently installed at the Coors Event Center.
“We’re very happy to work with the University of Colorado on this project,” Mark Johnson, Daktronics Sales, said. “The displays will make the experience in the Coors Event Center more exciting for everyone.”
The University of Colorado also has Daktronics equipment at its soccer, tennis and football facilities.
Daktronics LED video and messaging display technology offers a long lifetime with minimal maintenance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years to come.
