Colorado sophomore Alec Burks made the cut as the Wooden Award trimmed its list of candidates down to 30. Cory Higgins, a member of the preseason top-50 list, did not.
The Big 12 still has the most players on the list with six — Burks (CU), Marcus Denmon (Missouri), LaceDarius Dunn (Baylor), Jordan Hamilton (Texas), Marcus Morris (Kansas) and Jacob Pullen (Kansas State).
The Wooden Award will be handed out the weekend of April 8-10. Right now it’s probably Kyle Singler’s to lose as No. 1 Duke looks to repeat.
Burks and Denmon will be on the same court on Saturday as the Buffs open the Big 12 season against Missouri at the Coors Events Center.
