SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — I spent my Saturday in the gym shooting free throws.

Actually, that’s what the Buffs should have done. Tad Boyle made them watch film of the second-half collapse against Maryland instead.

With no games on the schedule at the Puerto Rico Tip-off it was time to get out of San Juan. I drove to the El Yunque National Forest and hiked a great trail.

After the descent I stopped in a town called Luquillo and spent some time on a gorgeous, uncrowded beach.

My evening mostly consisted of searching for a place to watch the Colorado-UCLA football game. No one can find the Versus network here either.

Oh well, it sounds like the game was an old road repeat anyway.

The tournament at Coliseo del Puerto Rico wraps up tonight with Alabama and Purdue in the championship game. CU takes on Western Michigan in the seventh-place game this morning.

I get the feeling Boyle isn’t enjoying himself as much on this trip as yours truly.
