Andre Roberson has been named the Pac-12′s player of the week after scoring 17 points and grabbing a career-high 20 rebounds to lead Colorado to a 50-43 victory at Fresno State last Wednesday night.
Askia Booker was named the conference’s player of the week after earning most valuable player honors at the Charleston Classic last month.
Roberson shot 7-of-12 from the field with three assists and one steal during the Buffs’ first road win of the season.
The 6-7 forward’s final rebound came off a missed free throw by Spencer Dinwiddie. Roberson was then fouled and knocked down a pair of free throws to ice the game with 26 seconds left.
“One thing we’ve had trouble with in the past is finishing games. We did a good job tonight,” Roberson told me after the game at the Save Smart Center. “This was a good start for us as far as closing out road games.”
CU is practicing around final exams this week ahead of Friday’s game against Northern Arizona at the Coors Events Center (6:30 p.m., Pac-12 Networks).
